If your address was in the wind path, your shingles likely have lifted tabs and broken seals you can't see from the ground.

A wake low behind a decaying squall line drove damaging southeasterly winds across northern Illinois and northwest Indiana. 72 mph in Sandwich, 67 mph near Sugar Grove, 63 mph near Leland and Sycamore. A 95 ft radio tower collapsed in Valparaiso, a transmission tower took structural damage in Warrenville, and siding was torn loose in the Elgin area. Trees and power lines down across all 10 affected counties.
Multiple tornadoes confirmed across northern Illinois. 76 mph winds in McHenry County overturned semi trucks on I-39. Grain bins destroyed in Loda, roofs damaged in Roscoe, power lines and trees down across Kane, Cook, Will, Lake, and McHenry counties. Batavia, Geneva, and Sandwich took direct hits in Kane County.
Record-setting rainfall overwhelmed gutters and drainage systems across Chicagoland. Homes with aging roofs, worn flashing, or poor drainage are at risk of ponding damage, flashing failures, and basement seepage caused by water backing up through compromised roof systems.
Baseball-sized hail hit Darien, Westmont, Woodridge, Downers Grove, and Bolingbrook. A 6.6" hailstone in Kankakee may be the largest in IL state history.
High winds caused shingle damage, exposed nail heads, and displaced ridge caps across the western suburbs. Wind damage often hides on the back slope.
Heavy ice caused gutter damage, ice dams, and interior leaks across the south suburbs. Ice dams cause hidden water damage in attics and walls.
