These terms cover this website, the Roof Photo Check and our MCP gateway. Chicago Storm Pros is a service of C&N Construction, Inc., 24 N Hillside Ave, Hillside, IL 60162. ## The Short Version The site, the Roof Photo Check and the MCP gateway are free. They give general information and a first look at a photo. They are not an inspection, not insurance advice and not legal advice. Use them for your own roof, do not abuse them, and call us if you want a person to look at the real roof. By using them you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use them. ## What These Terms Cover "We," "us" and "Chicago Storm Pros" mean C&N Construction, Inc., an Illinois roofing contractor (Illinois roofing license 104.017643). These terms apply to this website, to the [Roof Photo Check](https://chicagostormpros.com/roof-photo-check/), and to the MCP gateway at `https://chicagostormpros.com/mcp`, which lets AI assistants look up storm records and request a free inspection on a homeowner's behalf. Our [privacy policy](https://chicagostormpros.com/privacy/) explains what information we collect and who handles it. If you hire us for roofing work, that work is governed by a separate written contract, and the contract controls over these terms. ## Free Tools, No Warranty The website, the Roof Photo Check and the gateway are free and provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep the information accurate, including storm records drawn from National Weather Service and NOAA sources, but we do not promise that it is complete, current or error-free, or that the tools will always be available. A tool can be wrong, slow or offline. To the extent Illinois law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make or losses you suffer from relying on a free tool, and our total responsibility for any claim about them is limited to what you paid us for them, which is nothing. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under Illinois law that cannot be waived, and nothing limits responsibility for our own roofing work under a signed contract. ## A Photo Is Not an Inspection The Roof Photo Check reads a photo or a checklist you provide and describes what it seems to show: signs that look consistent with hail, wind or ordinary wear. A photo cannot show everything. It cannot show the condition under the shingles, the decking, the flashing, the attic or most of the roof you did not photograph. Hail and wind damage can be missed in a photo, and wear can look like damage. The result is a general read, and it can be wrong in either direction. Only an inspection of the roof itself can tell you its condition. We offer one free. Do not decide to repair, replace or leave a roof, or to file or skip an insurance claim, on the strength of a photo check alone. ## We Are Roofing Contractors, Not Public Adjusters We are roofing contractors. We are not public adjusters, insurance agents or lawyers, and nothing on this site or from the gateway is insurance, legal or claim-negotiation advice. We do not interpret your policy, tell you whether a loss is covered, or predict whether a carrier will pay a claim. Those decisions belong to your carrier, and in a dispute you may want a licensed public adjuster or an attorney. We can inspect the roof, document what we find, meet your adjuster at the roof and scope the work. You decide whether to file a claim, and you decide who to hire. Your policy sets its own deadline to report a loss, so check your declarations page or ask your agent. We keep a [public adjuster guide](https://chicagostormpros.com/public-adjuster/) if you want one. ## Acceptable Use and Rate Limits You may use the site, the tool and the gateway for your own property, or for a property whose owner has asked you to act for them. You may not: - submit a photo you do not own and have no permission to share, or a photo that shows people, or anything other than a roof or home exterior; - enter someone else's name, phone number or address to book an inspection without their knowledge and consent, or enter a phone number that is not the homeowner's own; - submit false, abusive or unlawful content, or use the tools to harass anyone; - scrape the site in bulk, probe or attack our servers, work around a rate limit, or interfere with the service; - use our tools to build a competing product, or to send us automated bookings, leads or requests that no real homeowner asked for. To keep the tools free for everyone, we limit use. The gateway accepts up to 5 inspection requests an hour per connection and up to 60 roof photo checks from codes an hour. A photo upload on the website is limited to 10 an hour per person and a daily total across the site. Uploaded photos may be no larger than 4 MB. These limits can change without notice. We may block access to anyone who abuses a tool. Booking requests marked as a test (dry run) are validated and discarded, and are never sent to our team. ## Booking Consent When you submit the inspection form, or when an AI assistant submits a request through the gateway on your behalf, you are asking us to contact you about a free roof inspection. You agree that we may call or text the phone number given, and email the address given if there is one, to schedule and carry out that inspection. We do not use the request for marketing text blasts. Booking is free and creates no obligation to hire us. If an AI assistant makes the request for you, you confirm that you asked it to, that the name, phone number and address are yours or those of a property you have authority over, and that the number is a callback number you answer. To stop calls, tell us and we will stop. ## The AI Processor If you upload a photo to the Roof Photo Check, we send it to an AI provider, Z.ai, whose model finds the signs to circle. You confirm with a checkbox that you own the photo or have permission to share it. Z.ai processes the photo under its own terms. What it says about keeping and using that data, and what we keep, is on our [privacy page](https://chicagostormpros.com/privacy/#roof-photo-check). The words in your result come from our own rules and not from the model. AI can misread a photo, and we do not guarantee that any result is correct. When you use the gateway through an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, that assistant is run by its own company under its own terms, and we are not responsible for what it says or does. ## Our Content and Your Photo The site, its text, the roof rules and the data we publish belong to us or our licensors. You may use them for your own personal, non-commercial needs, and quote or link to them with credit. You keep ownership of your photo. By uploading it you give us permission only to process it to produce your result. We do not use it for marketing without separate written permission from you. ## Links to Other Sites We link to government and other third-party sites. We do not control them and are not responsible for what they say or do. ## Illinois Law These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. A dispute about the site or the free tools will be brought in the state or federal courts in Cook County, Illinois, and you and we agree to that venue, unless a law that protects consumers says otherwise. ## Changes We may update these terms.
